Trusting God

March 19, 2020

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Bishop Paul Morton sings a song called ” Don’t Do It Without Me ” . With that being said, there are times that we come to seasons in our life where we feel that we really need to trust God in a situation that we’re facing. When the truth of the matter is that we need to trust God all the time. The above scripture speaks to us about the importance of not leaning on our own understanding and that we should trust God to show us which path to take. The song goes on to say “Lord whatever you’re doing in this season please don’t do it without me” which means when God is allowing things to happen in a certain season of your life and it isn’t prosperous in your eyes now doesn’t mean that it’s not God’s way. We are in the season of COVID-19 and as believers we must remember that nothing happens in this world unless God allows it to. Therefore we must trust God in this difficult and unexplainable season. God told us in the book of Ecclesiastes that there is nothing new under the sun. So because He has seen this before we need to trust Him to get us through it. This is a time that world can see
God through His people. We must show love and compassion, speaking life and not death, being a help and not a hindrance and being encouraging and uplifting to others. We say Lord whatever You’re doing in this season don’t do it without us . Lord let us be Your hands, Your feet and Your eyes in this season to trust You with all our heart and not depend on our own understanding, that we will allow You Father to direct our path to bring healing to this Nation and our World.

In our Bible Study we have been reading a book called Goliath Must Fall by Louie Giglio. Goliath was a giant that taunted the Israelites to make them afraid (1Samuel 17). The book gives an example about a woman who bought a tiger as a cub. It was so cuddly and cute at first. But…

Expectations

March 31, 2019

When I think of expecting something of someone, the thought is usually “why did they do or say that”? When in reality, we never really talk about the expectations that we have for people that we associate ourselves with.
