Unforgiveness

Unforgiveness is like a cancer, when it tries to settle in my heart. I’m  reminded of how desperately I needed it in a world that had no purpose for me. Unknowingly someone, somewhere was praying for me to be delivered. I was blinded from the truth that Jesus Christ wanted to save me from my sins. My world was full of darkness and remembering what that was like prompts me to share about the importance of forgiveness. True forgiveness starts when we accept the love of God through His son. For me, there was no understanding of what it meant to repent and ask God for forgiveness. After receiving it for myself. I realized that I also owed it to others, even myself. There were many that  mistreated me, but none as much as I had mistreated God. By abusing and misusing this temple that He had given me for His spirit to dwell. You see forgiveness is necessary for eternal life with God. When you understand that the power of forgiveness isn’t so much for others as it is for yourself. It will be much easier to do because it releases you of the burdens of others choices. In the word of God forgiveness is so important that Jesus told Peter in Matthew 18:22 that we should forgive those who wrong us seventy times seven in one day. I encourage anyone that is reading this to let go of the baggage that you have been holding on to. Trust and believe that most of those who have wronged you are moving on with their lives while you are still held captive. Forgive and be free. You have the key to your freedom through forgiveness.
